The best experiences in the Costa Daurada according to our followers

We have surveyed our social media followers to find out which are the most popular experiences in the Costa Daurada.

To celebrate the start of the warmer weather we are revealing the results of our social media survey to find the ultimate experience of the Costa Daurada. Ranging from must-see attractions for the first timer to those things that never disappoint the returning holiday maker.

#1 PortAventura

Unsurprisingly the majority of our followers voted the iconic PortAventura World with Ferrari Land and Costa Caribe water park as the best experience in the Costa Daurada. This massive complex is one of the most important theme parks in the world. Don’t miss the new addition for 2019 – a new 4* themed hotel and it’s first ‘dark ride’. Intrigued? So are we.

#2 Camí de Ronda

Walk along 6.5km of coastal path stretching from the heart of Salou to an idillic lighthouse overlooking the Mediterranean. On the way you can discover secret coves and breathtaking views. This shows some of the best things in life are free… especially if they involve sunshine and a beach!

#3 Food

The Costa Daurada is home to some fantastic restaurants making the most of the quality mediterranean products you can find here. Enjoy a seafood paella, traditional tapas, or more international flavours there is something to suit everyones tastes.

#4 History

The Costa Daurada is home to unmissable historical monuments. No wonder our followers voted places such as the Roman Tarraco City in Tarragona, ancient monasteries, and a visit to the medieval town of Montblanc, as must-do activities during your stay.

#5 Water Activities

With an average August temperature of 25°C the Mediterranean Sea is the best place to spend your day. Our followers voted kayak trips, diving and surfing as some of the best experiences in the Costa Daurada. If staying on dry land is more your thing, there are many other ways to seek adventure from electric karting to mountain biking.

#6 Priorat

Have you ever dreamt of wine tasting amongst vineyards and incredible views? Priorat is a world famous area for it’s incredible wine. Located just 30 minutes inland it is one of the Costa Daurada’s best kept secrets and considered an unmissable day trip.

#7 Culture

A visit to the charming town of Reus is a great way to integrate into Catalan culture and tradition. As the birth place of architect Antonio Gaudi you can discover beautiful modernist buildings and experience some fantastic cultural events throughout the year from circus performers to traditional Catalan festivities.

#8 La Ibense Ice Cream

This ice cream parlour is an institution in Salou and has been in the family for generations. Our followers recommend enjoying your favourite flavour whilst strolling along the promenade in the shade of the palm trees — the summer holiday dream!

#9 Tuna Tour

Another institution in the Costa Daurada this adventure for the whole family involves a catamaran tour from the picturesque village of L’Ametlla de Mar to swim with majestic bluefin tuna. It is consistently a winner with visitors and promises to be one of the most unique experiences of your summer.

Relaxing at Lumine Beach Club, discovering the Ebro Delta, hiking in the mountains of Prades, climbing huge cliffs in Siurana, watching a ‘castellera’ performance and last but not least the light and water show of the Lluminosa Fountain in Salou, are other recommendations that our followers voted as the best experience in the Costa Daurada.
