The 'Nits Daurades' 2025: Salou’s Big Summer Festival

From 1st to 15th August, the streets and beaches of Salou come alive with live music, parades, fireworks, and traditional performances that celebrate the town’s seafaring roots and festive heritage

Enjoy the Salou’s Summer Festival. Nits Daurades is much more than Salou’s main summer celebration. It’s an explosion of culture, tradition, and collective joy in the heart of the Costa Daurada every August. And this year’s edition in 2025 is extra special: Salou is celebrating its title as Catalan Capital of Culture, with a vibrant programme packed with local talent, family-friendly shows, and events for all ages.

A Programme for Everyone

The festivities kick off on 1st August with kids’ workshops, a traditional fishing demonstration, and a popular sardinada with havaneres on Ponent Beach. On 2nd August, the official opening takes place with a speech by Councillor Miquel Sàmper, the traditional tronada (daylight fireworks), and a massive street batucada on Passeig Jaume I.

In the following days, the programme includes concerts like the Salou Festival Orchestra (3rd August), havaneres gatherings, correfocs (fire runs), dance shows, Aragonese folklore, and performances by local stars including OBK (12th August), Eurovision artist Melody (14th August), and the spectacular Vivancos (13th August).

Music & Celebration

Nits Daurades 2025 offers music for every taste: havaneres with bands like Els Cremats and Peix Fregit, a flamenco night led by Mónica Novillo’s company, and a tribute to Hombres G with Voy a pasármelo bien (9th August).

The Plaça de les Comunitats Autònomes becomes the main stage, hosting concerts every evening — including the ‘80s-themed partyOchentazo!”, the charity tardeo against cancer (10th August), and a special night dedicated to local talent (5th August).

Tradition & Popular Culture

No Nits Daurades would be complete without the town’s most beloved traditions: the sardanes dance on the promenade, the unveiling of the new outfit for Salou’s iconic Mulassa on its 15th anniversary, the honorary parade of guests, and, as always, the moving Procession of the Virgin Mary — one of the most heartfelt moments of the summer.

The Grand Fireworks Display

The biggest night of the summer in Salou. 15th August is the key date on Salou’s festive calendar. This iconic day hosts the town’s most important annual event — a unique and thrilling night that brings together thousands of people to celebrate the feast of Santa Maria del Mar.

The evening begins with the traditional maritime procession in honour of the patron saint, an emotional ceremony featuring the Santa Maria del Mar Fishermen’s Association, sailing along the coastline in a solemn and symbolic atmosphere.

After this deeply rooted tradition, the spotlight shifts to Passeig Jaume I, where at 11 pm the sky explodes with the Grand Fireworks Display. This spectacular pyrotechnic show, visible from the entire seafront, blends light, colour, and music to deliver an unforgettable sensory experience. It’s one of the most popular and eagerly awaited events of the whole summer.

The night ends with live music and a buzzing party atmosphere, with a concert by La Privada in the square — the perfect finale to a magical evening full of excitement and emotion. Without a doubt, it’s a must-see event for locals and visitors looking to experience the true festive spirit of Salou.
