The new guide selects activities, restaurants, local products and the most emblematic towns. The first map that unites the sea and the mountains and makes the cultural, historical and gastronomic wealth of our territory visible.
Top 50 experiences
The new guide is divided into 5 large areas: Terres de l’Ebre, the coast, the central Costa Daurada, the ‘El Camp’ plane and the mountains. Including 4 capital cities: Tarragona, Salou, Reus and Tortosa; and authentic towns to visit such as L’Espluga, Tivissa, L’Ametlla de Mar, L’Hospitalet, Mont-roig and Horta; as well as two emblematic areas: the Delta in the south and Priorat in the mountains.
The most representative experiences of each area, such as the Terres de l’Ebre Greenway, the routes and excursions of the Delta, the Tuna Tour of l’Ametlla de Mar or PortAventura theme park; essential cultural visits such as the Cathedrals of Tarragona and Tortosa, the Casa Navàs in Reus, the Parc Samà in Cambrils, the Mas Miró in Mont-roig or the Gothic Castle in L’Hospitalet de l’Infant; historical and mountain routes such as the Cistercian Route, the Prehistorical Caves of Espluga or the Iber treasure of Tivissa.
Responsible tourism
Along with the big brands, there is also room for small scale experiences to promote sustainable and responsible tourism. For example, the new guide includes visits to the astrological observatory of Priorat or the Horus Center of the Sierra de Llaberia that manages an environmental NGO or small scale cultural and sports activities in the mountains of the natural parks of Els Ports, Prades and Montsant.
Activities for everyone
The offer of experiences is completed by a selection of a dozen water activities on the coast and the Delta, a selection of the best escape rooms on the Costa Daurada and a short summary of the local guides of Salou and Reus. In total, the new guide brings together more than fifty different experiences.
Food experiences
One of the star sections of the guide is the restaurants selection, where the best local options are recommended. Among the recommendations, there are restaurants with a Michelin star, traditional Catalan cuisine, Mediterranean classics or signature cuisine as well as specialized paella and seafood restaurants, and not forgetting, the best tapas bars.
Together with the restaurants, Mapilife promotes local products from each area, such as vermouth, olive oil or calçots, as well as local producers who make chocolate, coffee or craft beer. In addition, there is a selection of the most representative wineries of the six DO’s of southern Catalunya where you can also do wine tastings, routes through the vineyards or visit the monumental wine cathedrals.
