The Vidbertus Cellar in L'Espluga de Francolí

Celler Vidbertus is a family project that focuses on producing high-quality wines deeply rooted in the local teritory. They produce native and estate-grown grape varieties with the DO Conca de Barberà seal. While their main grape variety is Trepat, which can be use for white, rosé, and red wine, they also work with Garnatxa blanca and negra, Parellada, and Garrut or Monastrell. Experience: Visit the Vidbertus winery, a vineyard tour by 4×4, and a tasting of 4 local wines. This activity requires a reservation at least 2 days in advance and is for a minimum of 2 people.

The Cooperativa de Falset Marçà is known as the wine cathedral of Southern Catalonia. It is a modernist building designed by Cèsar Martinell, a disciple of Antoni Gaudí, that produces wines and vermouths using black and white Grenache, Carignan, and Syrah grapes. They offer a wide variety of visits with tastings and activities throughout the year.

Experience: One of the highlights of the Cooperativa de Falset is the theatrical visit. This guided tour is led by Lo Blai, a grumpy worker not used to receiving visitors. During the tour, Lo Blai explains all the architectural details of the winery and the winemaking process, ending in the tasting room where visitors can sample three wines from the ÈTIM range, of the Montsant DO.

The 'Caseta del Priorat' in Porrera

The rural accommodation La Caseta del Priorat, together with the family cellar Fills de la Llicorera, organise personalised routes through the vineyards around Porrera. From the town square, a local guide takes you in his van down rural roads surrounded by vineyards that climb up the mountain slopes. Along the way, he explains the peculiarities of the slate terrain -which locals call llicorella- and the historical events that have shaped these crops, from the phylloxera plague of the early 19th century that devastated everything, to the boom that represented the recovery of the wine exploitation for the region only three decades ago.

Experience: Vineyard route around Porrera with a local guide and his van. Return to the manor house and tasting of DOQ Priorat wines and liquors from their own harvest, paired with various local products. A tasting that takes place in the garden of a historic house in the village. An activity for small groups and that requires a prior appointment.

Experience: Gourmet wine tasting with cured meats and cheeses. This activity consists of a welcome glass of cava, a stroll through the vineyards with a wine tasting at the foot of their organic vineyard, a visit to the Wine Cathedral of Nulles where its history, architecture and wine-making process is explained. The experience concludes with a pairing of 2 wines and 2 cavas Adernats with Catalan cured meats and cheeses, accompanied by bread with olive oil and hazelnuts (water and grape juice for minors).
