The 'Caseta del Priorat' in Porrera
The rural accommodation La Caseta del Priorat, together with the family cellar Fills de la Llicorera, organise personalised routes through the vineyards around Porrera. From the town square, a local guide takes you in his van down rural roads surrounded by vineyards that climb up the mountain slopes. Along the way, he explains the peculiarities of the slate terrain -which locals call llicorella- and the historical events that have shaped these crops, from the phylloxera plague of the early 19th century that devastated everything, to the boom that represented the recovery of the wine exploitation for the region only three decades ago.
Experience: Vineyard route around Porrera with a local guide and his van. Return to the manor house and tasting of DOQ Priorat wines and liquors from their own harvest, paired with various local products. A tasting that takes place in the garden of a historic house in the village. An activity for small groups and that requires a prior appointment.
